Can we all agree that there needs to be more love for Doctor Hobson?
I couldn’t agree more with this!!
Lewis 20 Day Fandom Challenge (Day 8): Character You Never Expected to Love As Much As You Do: Laura Hobson
To be fair, I could’ve made this post about any one of the characters. I was VERY close to making it about Innocent, since I never expected from her frosty beginnings that she’d end up becoming my favorite. But after much deliberation, I’ve decided to make this about Hobson—because she’s the character it took me longest to love. For quite some time (at least a year-and-a-half), I was rather indifferent to Laura. I didn’t actively dislike her, and I still recognized her importance to the general plot. I knew I should like her and that a lot of other people did, but for some reason, I just didn’t see her for the wonderful character that she was. Until all of a sudden, I started to really notice her intelligence, her kindness, her sarcasm and everything else that makes her so fantastic, and I wondered how I’d managed to miss it for so long.
1990s Malcolm and Laura Hobson: now that it has been seen*, it cannot be unseen and I mean that in the best possible way.
TTOI and Lewis canon be damned, let’s just call it a cross-over AU where the mysterious unknown, unspoken of, Mrs Tucker of Malcolm’s on-again, off-again wedding ring is none other than Oxford’s hardest working pathologist.
He married her for love and because she could make the bodies disappear; he never speaks of her because he knows she could easily make him one of the bodies, and totally get away with it too.
Who’s with me? .
*I apparently have Lewis specific facial blindness because despite having seen every episode, I didn’t make the ridiculously obvious connection between Jessie Fielding and the awesome Dr Hobson until it was pointed out in the notes.
This is my favourite face.
My girl crush for Clare is back in full force. She’s so sexy!

Perfect episode was perfect, I can now die happy.
We waited 7 series for that. That face implies that Hathaway did too. It was way too adorable.
He looks so proud of them, too. It’s not just that he’s happy for them. He’s also like “Well done; one of you finally did the sensible thing and made a move.”
